Weekend Highlights!

Wow..can't believe the weekend is over. How did that happen?

*Friday night went to the "Sock Hop" at Hailey's school. So cute and so fun. All set up like a 50's dance, lights, decorations, balloons. The girls were all set to get their groove on, until we got there that is. They walked into a gym full of kiddos mostly older than them and got a little intimidated. But once they found their peeps they were fine! Had a great time dancing the night away. Alex and Avery on the other hand spent most of their time with Scott and I trying to converse with other parents as we shouted loudly, repeated ourselves, and never made direct eye contact since we were constantly wondering where our children had gone. A fun night for the kids....and one of those..."has it only been 10 minutes?" night for the parents!

*Saturday we cleaned in the morning and hung out outside in the afternoon. I took my first bike ride of the year and Scott put a gate on our fence. We back up to a church with a reputation for being real nice and accommodating...so we didn't think they'd mind if we put a gate in so we could access their ginormous lawn. The kids love all their new space!

*Had friends over for dinner that night. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, and good food! I made berry pie and Alex and Karis devoured it!

*Went to church today. Alex went to Sunday School for the first time. We really debated this one, but he is so bored during church so we thought we'd try. He is in Avery's class so that is good for both of them. We told the teacher to text us if he looked at all uncomfortable, but she said he did great. In fact a friend came in and whispered to me that she saw him in there and that they were looking for a Creole speaker to interpret for him. LOVE our church!! They didn't find one, but love that there could have been one and that it's a possibility.

*Took the kids on a walk on the Greenbelt, let them throw rocks in the river and play at a park. Such nice weather this weekend. LOVE IDAHO!! It feels more and more like home here!

And the cuteness is from my dear friend Julia. She sent these adorable shirts and the kiddos were so thrilled. They have been begging to wear them. Got lots of compliments at church and lots of, "Did you make those?" and "Where did you get those?" All credit to Miss Julia...mother of 3 year old twins and a new baby! How did she manage to buy shirts and get them in the mail?! Wow!
